Ultimate Gymnastics Grand Opening Draws Crowd
Ultimate Gymnastics officially opened its doors on Sunday, May 24th to a large crowd of wide-eyed and eager current and future athletes and their families.
The Grand Opening, sponsored by Pepsi, Loudon Bros, Old Dutch Foods and the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium, featured an official ribbon cutting ceremony, complimentary BBQ and refreshments, competitive athlete showcase performances and a draw for a pair of tickets to see Flashdance The Musical at the Community Auditorium.
Officially welcoming Ultimate Gymnastics to the community were Thunder Bay’s Mayor Keith Hobbs, Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce President Charla Robinson and Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro, who together with Ultimate athletes Megan Bryson, Avery Martin, Avery Victor and co-owner Greg Balec cut the ribbon to make things official.
Ultimate Gymnastics, which launched to much fanfare and media hype this past September is winding down its inaugural campaign, one that saw the club’s athletes bring home well over 100 medals, including two silver at the Ontario Championships in April. A trip to the North Bay Gymtrix Sunshine Classic at the end of May closes out the competitive season.
