Ultimate Gymnastics Fares Well at Qualifier

Thunder Bay’s Ultimate Gymnastics enjoyed a successful trek to Pickering over the weekend, bringing home a total of seven medals from their first Gymnastics Ontario Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Provincial Qualifier of the 2015-16 season.

The club boarded the plane at Pearson Int’l with a Gold, Silver and five Bronze medals.

Mining gold for the club, was Julie Bica (Level 7 – Age 14), with a very strong 9.60 effort on the Balance Beam, while Katerina Hamar (Level 9 – Age 12) churned out a silver medal performance on Uneven Bars. Hamar also etched out a bronze medal on Vault.

Adding to the haul with a pair of bronze medals apiece were Aimee-Leigh Balec (Level 9 – Age 15) who picked up hardware for solid outings on Balance Beam and Floor, and Cassandra Boyer (Level 8 – Age 16) who also earned bling for Uneven Bars and Floor.

Emily Ukrainec (Level 8 Age 12) fared well, earning herself a 4th place finish on Floor while grabbing 5th place for Balance Beam. Christiana Collins (Level 9 – Age 12) scooped up a 4th place finish on Balance Beam and 5th place on Uneven Bars.
